Euro-Pro TO156 Extra-Large-Capacity 6-Slice Toaster Oven Review

I have had this toaster oven for several years (?). I liked it so much that I sent two others to friends- especially to a friend who does not use a microwave. It has one major quirk and that is the toasting process. You have to know that it must be set at the 400 degree max and then be careful about the setting for color/toasting. But,if I am in a hurry I use a traditional toaster. I DO like this one for the “Texas” toast and garlic toasts and other oversized toasting breads. Another major plus is for your take-home leftovers. Many of them do not reheat well in the microwave. ALL do so in the toaster oven. It is a quick way to “bake”, “reheat”, etc. in a short period of time and without the cumbersome oven just for some small amount of food. I am single and often cook for myself and maybe one or two guests. Try broiling salmon fillets! Magnificent! Season them minimally and viola! you have tasty fillets in no time at all- salad&fruit and you have a nice meal. I can afford to buy the fancier models, but I have too often fallen victim to excessive gadgets that I NEVER use. The Cuisinart food processor is a good example. Moerover, for so many, you need an at home demonstration or a degree on the product performance. The only reason a gave it a 4 instead of a 5, is because of the toasting issue. However, I do believe that the current price is the highest I have seen for this item. I spent closer to the range. Oh yeah… one last plus… it is one of the only toaster ovens, I’ve found, that has TWO racks.. This is so necessary and I put then to use daily. My T.O. finally gave out (I believe I got my money’s worth!) and I am frantically waiting for the new one so that I can be “back in business”.
