The other day, I wanted to find my old girlfriend from college and tell her that all of the communication issues she thought I was lacking in were not so lacking any more.
Then I realized that I didn’t have any way to get in touch with her.
I mean, I do have the old college yearbook, but that only has her name.
But knowing only her name and where I knew she was living (without me), I went directly to the internet in the hopes that I could easily find my old girlfriend. Boy was that wishful thinking.
It seems that everyone with some html skills owns or co-owns a People Finding search engine these days. Everywhere I looked I was hit with one offer after another all promising me that they were the old girlfriend expert!
What I didn’t know was that these sites are less interested in helping people find other people and more interested in monetizing their traffic! Yes, they would bring me into their traffic funnels with the promise of a girlfriend or two located, but what they steered me towards was very, very different.
I liken it to going into an ice cream shoppe and walking out with a toaster oven.
Makes no sense.
Good thing I stuck it out. Because I eventually did find an amazing way to find my old girlfriend on the net and do so without having to spend a penny!
Through a 100% dedicated people finding search engine that is devoid of internet advertising and bells and whistles, I found little Ann still up in Maine. Married with a bundle of kids.
Even though she is up there and not with me, the reconnection was great and it brought both of us back to some rather crazy times in college.
It allowed us to get out of ourselves and relive a memory.
And that is a really wonderful thing that only humans have the ability to do!
I hope you use this way that I found to find my old girlfriend.
You never know what kind of memories you might just stir up in both of you!
