I have the convection toaster oven and at first I was intimidated by the size and all the functions. I don’t cook, so it’s taking me a while to use it for all that it can do. However, my first toasting episode (bagel) was fantastic, evenly browned. The display is easy to use, and after reading the manual one time, you can remember the procedure to cook most anything. I like the fact that it is large enough for an 11 inch pizza. I like the Freschetta thin crust frozen pizza and it just fits and cooks perfectly. It cooks different than my oven, too. And boy, the savings on gas due to not using my oven, and not heating up the house unnecesarily. I know I will eventually use it for more items. I did use it for a chicken from the supermarket (precooked) and it heated up thoroughly through and through. The trays go in and out easily for cleaning. I haven’t used the top feature yet, but I highly recommend this toaster oven based on my use so far. Oh, and it beeps when the timer you set for the food runs out, which is a nice feature.
Highly Recommend this, and I’ve been through a long list of disaster toaster ovens. Consumer Reports liked this one too.

I agree with many of the reviewers and will not repeat the details. I owned a wonderful Panasonic toaster for many years and although it looked bad (old and worn) in my new kitchen, I could not find a replacement I was happy with, until this one. I tried the Cuisinart and returned it. My main gripes were that I need an auto shut-off, that is one of the main things I like about using the toaster oven, and that the crumb tray should slide out from the front. It is ridiculous to have it any other way. I also wanted something my older kids wouldn’t find difficult to use, as they are not as motivated to read the manual as I am. This T-fal fits those requirements with a few extra pluses, such as the warming drawer, and a depth of only 10 1/2 inches that doesn’t jut out onto the counter like the Cuisinart. The only thing that keeps this toaster from being perfect is that the default baking timer is set to 30 minutes. My most frequent toaster oven tasks are for 3-10 minutes, so holding the button down until it reaches the lower numbers is a drag. I would much prefer it started at zero or even 5 or 10, and I could hold it down on those occasions that I needed more time.

First and most important, all of those people returning their “defective” ovens because of a “grinding” sound coming from the “fan” don’t know the first thing about a convection oven, so they’re missing out on a great product. It’s not a fan, nor is it a grinding sound. It’s quite normal and it is only noticeable as the AIR PUMP gets up to speed. After that, it’s nothing more than a gentle purring sound. In fact, I just went to the kitchen to move my crab cakes from the MicroWave to the Avante Convection Oven and it sounds less like a purr, than a soft humming sound.
Someone was at least smart enough to compare it to the pumping sound of a dishwasher. I call that smart because that’s what they’re hearing. It’s not a fan; it’s an air pump. A fan would never survive the 350-500 degree temperatures of an oven like this. The motor would be right in the path of the hot blasting air.
If not the fan would have to be belt driven (melted rubber anyone?) or gear driven and how would you keep the gears lubricated at 500 degrees?
The bottom line is that this is a great oven for finishing off a quick meal that requires browning, after starting it in the microwave. It’s not great as a toaster, but it can’t be beat for baking or broiling when you don’t need a full-sized oven, and you can reduce the cooking time considerably when baking, thanks to the convection provided by the AIR PUMP!
